A very large bone, because some subjects deserve to be easy to spot.

An Excellent Bone is part of my Art for Dogs series — art made with a canine audience in mind. Dogs don't see fine detail as sharply as we do, which got me thinking about line, shape and how much detail an artwork really needs.

Nerd notes

Dog eyesight is often estimated at around 20/75. In practical terms, a dog may need to be about 20 feet (6 metres) from something to see the detail that a person with typical vision could see from roughly 75 feet (23 metres) away.

Fortunately, bones tend not to contain a lot of fine print.
